Glenda King Pittman is a tenured public servant, serving 36 years in the Department of Humans Services in Arlington County, VA. She has dedicated her career to providing advice and leadership in finance, information technology, records management, and regulatory compliance. Her hard work has allowed her to rise to the chief of the Finance and Information Systems Division. Before receiving her master’s degree in Public Administration/Finance from Southeastern University in Washington, DC, Glenda developed her servant’s heart and mastery of numbers at the illustrious Bennett College in Greensboro, NC, while earning her bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Though finance is the vessel, her passion for helping people is the driving force. She aspires to begin a second career mentoring youth and assisting young women in developing socially and spiritually. Despite a demanding job, Glenda serves as a budget and life skills coach, mentor for at-risk youth, leaving incarceration and adult families in transitional housing. She is grateful for the opportunity to merge her finance savvy and service-driven purpose working with The Safe Sister’s Circle. Glenda is the proud parent of one son, 28, Jarrell D. Pittman, and she currently lives in Fort Washington, MD.
